About the Book:

It is the beginning of life on earth. Life sprouts in the heart of Kausar, a mysterious place surrounded by silence and darkness. But soon the    darkness fades and gives way to romanticism and rosiness. On the first night, Kavi felt disheartened but a lovely sunrise waited for him on the other side of night. Soon there was celebration all around. One fine day Kavi met Kavya and hence began a new love story in Kausar.
Shades of Shadows is the love story of first human beings on earth. Feelings and enotions have been expressed with 50 poems used at various stages of story. The story is very vivid and poetic.

  1. They say my gender
    is a shade of shadow
    on me,on them
    and on that evasive ‘honor’

    but I believe
    my essence as a woman
    is a ray of sunshine
    that pierces through
    their age old mindsets
    the real dark shade
    of exploitative shadows !

  3. Shade of his shadow
    A shade of his shadow
    Peeps through the window
Looks at his children continuing to play
But await his return at the end of the day
walks in when the winds open the doors
    And touches his wife’s contour
Her tears he sees but cannot wipe
    But with his warmth
This unfortunate shade of his shadow
    Blankets his beloved widow

PS: Unsure if this is eligible.

  4. Who would deny
    The light of darkness
    When it touches
    The breath of sweat

    And who would deny
    The dust of light
    When it ruffles
    The frost of sight

    Isn’t it what shadows are?
    Joining the frosty sweat
    With the sweaty frost

    Joining the undenied darkness
With the dust in the brow

    In my life…

In view of the hot breath
    Shimmering across the brow
    A shade sat still
    In the vibrant shadow

    The shade was there
When the peace of darkness was shattered
With the sledge hammer of light

    And the shade was there
When the life of light was splattered
With the monstrous blood of darkness

It would neither flinch nor flutter
When my heart would jump and fly
And when my eyes would flow tears to cry
It would neither flinch nor sigh

It would collect the shards of darkness
And join them with the patches of light
And build for itself a a growing vista
Of loving memories and a peaceful life

The shade was non other than I
observing my life with the inner eye

    So-Yes, it has been me
    And it always will be
    A lingering shade
    In the shadows of life!

    -Keku:)!

  5. A shade of my dream
    reflects in the shadow
    of her being
    the hollowness of
    a mundane life
    gets complete
    when I breathe her
    in all the shades
    of her life
    and mine

  6. He has gone; nothing remains, not even his shadow.

The man who birthed me, held me, taught me.
Who laughed his big laugh and lit up a dark room.

I try not to think of him
But the ache is now permanent.

I uncurl the pain, it claws at me
Hastily, I retreat into the cool shade of forgetting.

He has gone; nothing remains, not even his shadow.

  7. The day I blicked the light of the day
There was a huge shadow of love everyday

    Dad and Mum dear
In the shade of your shadow

To date I have no fear !

  8. A shadow that looms
    A shadow that haunts

What is it , O Shadow of Light
Why do you want to snuff out my Light

In the cool antiseptic room of my doctor
The Shadow in the Xray can make me a martyr

  9. Bright sunny days filled with laughter
The sun makes the fish frolic with joy

I sit lazily watching nature go by
The fishermen joyfully launching catamarans nearby

    Children play with sand
Children make merry in water and sand

Suddenly a shadow floats over me
There is shade where there was bright near me

Is it the children, is it the sea
A shadow has come over me

The meaning of life is crystal clear to me
Where there is sun there will also be a shadow over me !

    Dad and Mum dear
In the shade of your shadow
I have gone where everybody is a shadow

There have been moments of stress
There have been many times of distress
Each time I came back to your love
Each time I found this shadow of love

Time has gone by and you are no more
Mum and Dad it seems still like you are there as before
As I grow older I cast my own shadow
The young ones sense something behind my Shadow
I never fail to remind them always of the Great Shadow !
